ASAP Service Management Forum
On November 21, the fourth ASAP Service Management Forum was held at Aula Magna of Bergamo University. More than 140 professionals representing large, medium, and small companies in production, distribution, and services industries were in attendance. Professor Sergio Cavalieri of Bergamo University opened the forum, followed by speakers who presented their works on the value of service. The sessions that followed covered the following additional service topics:

  • Service as a competitive tool for producers of industrial goods.
  • Evolution of customer care–the past and the future.
  • The professional customer: opportunities for the company.
  • Creating value for the customer: long-cycle service strategies to support products.

Chapter president Giorgio di Giovanni a thought-provoking presentation on how one organization has moved from being a producer to a provider of solutions. Chapter secretary Renato Traversi acted as co-chairman of for one of the subsequent sessions. Following the presentations, the panel reviewed the main themes covered, coordinated by IDC, and Professor Marco Perona of Brescia University closed the Forum.
